A friend called and told me his son was asked to return to his job in a restaurant that was just permitted to reopen. He asked me this question: If it was my son, what would I tell him?

The most common question I’m asked is: Is it different this time?
I don’t think that’s the right question. A better question might be, Am I going to be okay? This question requires an analysis of both health and financial issues.

Humans are an incredibly adaptable species. Our brains have the ability (known as “plasticity”) to adjust in response to changed circumstances.

In these extraordinary times it’s easy to feel out of control, anxious and afraid. Instead of succumbing to negative emotions it’s helpful to understand the control we have over our emotions.

We’re taught to be believe being selfish is bad, but that’s not always true. When we act with kindness and compassion towards others, we reap meaningful benefits.

Negative news abounds But there’s also reason for optimism.
